Mine made it!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I am in shock. I thought I'd killed it. I decided to move it, which is NOT a good idea with peonies, as they hate that. Everything except that came up. I'd given up hope. Now all of a sudden it appears. Lucky me!

I moved mine too. From my old house to where I am living now. I finally see little red points sticking up. That's a relief b/c I originally got the peony bush from a friend who is no longer alive. I've had it around 20 years.

I moved one too, and it has come up nicely and has buds! When I moved it I thought maybe I'd be sacrificing blooms this year. I moved as much soil with it as the shovel would handle and was very careful not to plant it deeper than it had been before. Needless to say, I am very happy with a happy plant.

The whole reason why I had moved mine was because I hadn't planted it deep enough to begin with - but I did like you, Mary, and moved as much of the dirt with it is possible, hoping to lessen the shock.
