Seeder? alternatives than buying one

Hi All,
Now I know somebody has invented something to use as a seeder for them microscopic seeds, other than spend plant and seed money for one of them handheld deals (like $6.00).Cuz my watercress looks like it needs a lawnmower ahold of it.Thanks
