oops! :)

Colorado Springs, CO(Zone 6a)

well after my jack-o-lantern bit the dust this past halloween, i just chunked it into my garden ( i have a 10x20 plot in front of my apartment) hoping it would compost a bit and fertilize the bulbs i had planted earlier that month.
who knew come march i would be overrun with little pumpkin seedlings!! i had no idea it would be this easy and man, are they loving the spot i 'picked' for them. i'm excited to see what happens, and if nothing else- the bright green makes my red tulips look even better! :)

Thin those down to about 4 or 5 seedlings (2 or 3 are better)...I know...but grit your teeth and do it. Punkins need lots of water and nuitrients and if they are crowded, all will suffer.

These vines will get _big_ and long, so even though they are quite cute now, they will consume your plot later.Pumpkin leaves alone can be the size of an old vinyl record album...each.

You should get a harvest with no problem...congrats!
