Does anyone know of an on-line source for this one? It's so gorgeous, and my hubby is dying for reds.

LOL!!!!!!!! hahahaha, it's not made of gold, don't they know??? You told me it was high, but I will never pay $65 for one fan of daylily, or any other kind of flower!
whew! isn't that a hoot??????

tiG you & me both! Actually $65 is not all that expensive for new hybrid. The real collectors will often pay over $100 for a daylily. Lucky for us there are plenty of beautiful and older varieties that are more in our price range.

tiG here is a link to a site by the hybridizer of Hearts and Lace. He has more gorgeous daylilies he has hybridized. I like the Carnival Morning and lots of the unnamed ones.

I appreciate the wonders that the hybridizers do. They make some really gorgeous things. But for $65 I can buy mulch for my whole big yard. I hope one day soon this one will be available at a better price. And I'm glad they do what they do:)

I agree that is a beautiful bloom, but I'll wait. Shame on you tiG for drawing my attention to that one. My honey was telling me she wanted some "REAL" color and Hearts and Lace is just the thing. I never have identified my Eyed Lilly it looks like winter masquerade, little devil, and several others. It was given to me and they have just started blooming!!!! Love it love it.

100$ is very low for a good daylilly hybrid. I have paid well over 250 dollars for one of my Brugmansia hybrids. My point being, no matter what the hybrid, one is going to get what one pays for. If one pays more the hybrid is generally newer and better which equates to being more rare and a much better hybridizing plant. What one has to remember when one is paying for a hybrid is that one is paying to have it based on how good it is and how new or old it is. If you are the first to have a certain hybrid then you are going to pay more for it. The drastic changes in flower hybrids are trully remarkable from just one cross. From year to year the changes make ones head spin. The Daylilly hybrids are really coming along.
