Cactus question

The kids I nanny for ran into Oma's cactus the other day and one of the babies fell off. There were some small roots sticking out so I put it in some water. I can probably just pot it up right? Never Had a cut from cactus. It looks like a ball, but not a mother-in-laws seat. TX,Mere

Take it out of the water, and let it dry for a while (week,month) depending on the size of the pup. Yes, of course pot it up in very fast draining soil. Watch for roots, it may rot if you water, and they haven't even started to grow. Set it on top of damp soil, don't water until those roots strike down. Norma
