Hydroponics soon

Peachtree City, GA(Zone 8a)

It will be time to set up the hydroponics soon. I can hardly wait. I grow my tomatoes each year this way.
Last years setup.

I have tomatoes growing in an aeroponics unit. The roots are getting very long, reaching the water in the reservoir. Should they be trimmed? I didn't think it would be good for the roots to sit in water, what do you think?

So the cypress mulch worked well as a medium. Is it the only medium you used, or did you mix it with the grow rocks?
Is the dutch pot system about like the aqua-farm?
What brand/type of solution did you use?
So many questions!

Mary, the roots will be ok in the water as long as the water is moving and has air. You can also trim them some if needed. Sky, it is a type of dutch pot system. I used cypress mulch only. I get my nutrients from Alabama hydroponics.

Mary, yep the roots will be fine , grab a aquarium air pump at wallyworld for 6 to 10 bucks and toss
a 6 inch air stone on it , 3 bucks. and drop in the reservoir if you want to give them more oxygen or
there are lots in the res. It wont hurt ....

I do a tomato plant inside in a 18 gal. storage bin with a 6 inch netpot and thats all i use is a
airstone and air pump .. but i run the dual outlet type and 2 6 inch stones in there.
