This one is just called "Black" Tree Peony according to the tag, but I think that is the understatement of the century. Each bloom is at least 8 inches in diameter!

No, unfortunately, the tree peonies don't have much fragrance. It looks like it should smell good, doesn't it!
I'm easy to convince! I love these plants and they never fail to thrill me when they bloom. This one is generic -- came from hardware store looking pathetic, but it has done well. They are really not very particular as long as they get a bit of sun and some water now and then. This one was labeled "pink" tree peony!
