Weeding Tools

Valinda, CA(Zone 10a)

I am in need of a tool that I can use to pull weeds while I am standing. Does anyone have experience with such devices?

i've successfully used both a long-reach cultivator and the telesco garden weeder. they don't 'pull' weeds, but they dig them up and out without having to bend, squat, kneel etc.

Has anyone used one of those Weed Hounds? I've seen them in stores and wondered how well they work. Here's info on them at Epinions.com: http://www.epinions.com/hmgd-review-4721-575BAC6-3912C9A1-prod4

i saw it last year at home depot = decided not to buy it because i would still 'hurt' after using it. i'm sure for someone without disabilities, it might be a good thing

Looks like it's pretty effective for something, though not necessarily easy on the hands. I love the idea of not having to stoop and dig. My knees and back give me fits, and I would like to see what stoopless weeding might be like -- especially for those (un)dandy-lions! ;)

Hi George! You might find some sort of useful tool here:

It's not really a puller, but I like the circle hoe. It's just a hoe handle with a circular blade at the end; it's really good at getting weeds out unless they're the kinds that leave little nodules behind... it's a lot easier to use than a standard hoe.
