Eureka Guide

Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

I got my Iris/Hosta Eureka Guide in the mail today. Doing a happy dance! Will have lots of reading to do! ;~D

They must not have every iris seller in the guide, because places where I have ordered are not listed. Do the sellers pay to be in the guide, or what?

Hi, Lisa
I am curious about these guides, do they have lots of color pics?

I did a Eureka search and found this thread.

Many smaller growers are not listed because the price is very expensive.

Great as far as a suggested pricing guide at least for the daylilies it is.

I did buy some back issues of the guide and there were very very very few photos. The new one though has a CD along with it. They may have been able to get more photos on there. DG does use the dates of introduction on the plant files. They are almost universally a year later than the Iris was originally sold by the grower. Don't know why that is. Go figure.

I sent them all back.

Iris may be grown and tested in various diff. zones. it is only 'introduced' when it is listed for sale in a printed catalogue or list, after it is registered.

Does anyone have a current book? I would like to hear if you are happy with it! I like lots of pictures!
Thanks
