So pretty and delicate looking I like the light shading of purple there.

Smells wonderfull too. I like the delicateness (delicatessen?) of the flowers. Some of the falls are almost transparent. My flowers are never blue like some of the photos for i. confusa. Mostly white, with hint of purple, yellow tongues.

Owensboro, KY(Zone 6a)

I grow many of the species iris and Iris confusa is probably my favorite. It is very delicate much like Iris tectorum. Have you thought about joining the Species Iris Group of North America? They have a seed exchange once a year and you can get just about any species iris seed for 50 cents a pack.

LOL delicatessen. I think to many people here the garden is a delicatessen. I love seeing other peoples gardens and walking thru mine, even tho its not very big yet. I have to fight for space between the dogs, kids, and a DH who thinks he will be able to put a garrage in the back yard.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

I'm so jealous of your blooms! I was just feeling good today because we had sun, 40+ degrees & melting snow! Winter is way to long in Iowa...
