Journal: What are milestones?

Princeton, IL(Zone 5a)

I have been working on my DG Journal. For what do people use the milestones vs. an entry?

Hi, Lisa. Milestones are a concise way of marking the major events in an entry, as opposed to just journal notes. Here's a great example: http://davesgarden.com/j/viewentry/1533/index.html

Thank you gardenwife. One more question, does the computer figure out the number of days between events? You just put in your first mile stone and it figures out the distance to the next?

All you have to do is add the milestone and the date that the milestone occurred, and the server will count the days for you.

Cool! Thank you.

That's really cool -- neat for easily keeping track of how close to the reported days it takes for a veggie to ripen, for instance.

That was exactly what I had in mind! :)

At a glance, no math involved - I like. ;)

I've figured out how to create milestones but I haven't been able to figure out how to attach them to an item or entry. Now that I have some, how can I use them?
