Fabulous food blessing

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

We shop a lot at a dicount store that specializing in cans that have dents, torn or messed up labels, out of date items, etc. Yesterday they had about 16 banana boxes of items they know would not pass the health department inspection coming up in a few days. We bought all of them for $3 each for 6 of them & $5 each for 10 of them. Mostly canned goods(fruits, veggies, baked beans, soups), about 20# of flour, some cornmeal, sugar, a few boxes of cereals, several 2# pkg. powdered sugar, several institutional size cans of crushed pinapple, etc. We got them because we know 2 of our children can use the foods. At those prices it would be foolish to walk away from it. It is a one time only offer and we offered to just store the cans for the place and return them after the inspection but that offer was turned down. He often donates this kind of stuff to a local food bank but thought while we were in the store he would offer them to us. We bought more groceries too so our poor van was hanging really low in the rear all the way home. I didn't have anything to do with the loading or more would have been moved forward so it wouldn't all be right over the back axle.
