The 4th link seems to best describe mine. I just got mine this past fall. I planted it in a 1 gal pot until I can decide where to put it. Getting peppercorns from it looks like a long term plan requiring patience. I appreciate that link MaVieRose.

The growth rate seems to be quite slow.

Thanks MaVieRose,
MollyMc,I couldn't tell which one I have,it was just a little cutting,I recieved in a trade this fall, tagged pepper vine, since has put on 3 leaves very slow growing, since it has finally rooted. Here's a pic I just took,as a comparison I put it next to a passion flower in bloom.

Tropicman, aside from the fact that it's dark and raining out there, that looks like mine too. I believe we have the same plant. This one is slow growing. I got it off ebay this past fall. It is supposed to grow peppercorns as we know them. :^))

Molly
I think your right they look the same to me also.
Your having rain and were having freezing rain, expect to change to snow with 6 to 10 inches possible,,,,!
Can you tell me how much it has grown in inches since you recieved it?
Are you growing it in full sun?

Don, To the best of my observations, the vine is still on the same stake it came on, the tie wraps have not been changed and the plant still has not grown past the short stake. So any growth is indescernable. Problably my fault, I need to get it out of the pot and planted in the ground. Give it a nice fence to climb.

It has been in the sun most of the day since I got it. Do we have the patience or this Don?

LOL! Molly,as you get older patience gets easier!!!
Except when it comes to plants!!!LOL!
When I fertilize I want to see things grow!!
Like the jack and beanstalk type grow!!!!
Will have to wait until summer!!!May have to trade this baby off to someone younger who has another 30 to 40 yrs years of patience!!LOL!

Don, I'm bumping this back up, so do hope you are watching. I finally found a place to put the vine, a space on the fence. I noticed I have 3 stems/stalks growing now so it seems to have awakened. Let's watch it grow.

Hey Molly,
Yours is looking great, taking in the sunshine.
Rainy cold here today in the 40's,but the little guy is growing great,I think I'll bump him up in pot size, and start giving it a little extra fertilizer in a couple weeks when warm weather returns.
