Save those liquor bottles from the recycling bin!

Bradford, RI(Zone 5b)

Last year I bought those water spikes that you put on the bottom of a 2 or 3 liter bottle. I tried them to avoid getting moisture on my veggie plants. I didn't have much luck with them. They seemed to get clogged with soil, which defeated the purpose. They were very expensive too. We tend to imbibe from time to time at my household and would you believe plastic vodka, gin, and rum bottles work great for this type of watering method. I just cut the bottoms out and drilled tiny holes in the cap and a few on the sides of the neck and it worked fantastically. The holidays have past, but save those liquor bottles from the recycling bin. You'll save a lot of $$$$.
