Embroidery

I enjoy embroidery during the winter months especially ones like these last couple of weeks when we have been ice/snow bound. It seems when you buy transfers, they are always meant to be done on white or pastel fabric. I would love to find transfers for doing on dark colors like reds, blues, etc using light or white threads. Does this even exist? I do stamped cross stitches (not patient enough for counted cross stitch; that's my DD's thing)Anyway I usually buy a brand called Aunt Martha's transfers or Bucilla products. Do any of you have any ideas for transferring onto dark fabrics or other brands?
