Why Angels sit on the top of Christmas trees

St. Louis, MO(Zone 6b)

Santa spent the entire year with his helpers making all the toys for the good little boys and girls. On Christmas Eve he had his elves help him load the sleigh. Oh My! What a large load!!! They then hitched up the reindeer, two by two. In front they put Rudolf, but he had been in the plumb brandy again. The elves said, 'Put him in front, his nose will light the way. And so it was done. Santa then climbed up onto the driver's seat and cracked his long whip and the reindeer started down the long take-off runway, slow at first but then gaining speed. All of a sudden Rudolf staggered and fell. Typical drunk! BUT all the reindeer were hitched to each other and they all were pulled down onto a growing pile of reindeer with broken antelers and broken legs. At that moment the sleigh hit the pile with one runner and the sleigh was fliped over onto its side and all the presents were thrown into a ravine and covered with an avalanch of snow. Santa was thrown free but had snow down his suit. HE WAS MAD He stomped all the way back to his workshop, threw open the door only to discover that the fire was all but out. He blew hard on the dying flame and got a face full of ashes, but the flame blazed up for a moment. He grabed a nearby log and threw it onto the flame - but the log was wet and the room filled with smoke. Santa jumped to his feet and rushed into the kitchen where he took his last bottle of scotch out of the cupboard. It slipped through his wet fingers, hit the floor and shattered. At that point a small angel entered the room carrying a christmas tree and asked, 'Santa, where do you want me to put this?'
