Making your own soil

the road crew here delivers mulch to me, but I don't shred it again.
Very interesting comment about the trees not making the soil acidic, but that it was acidic when the trees started growing there.

The pH stuff certainly agrees with what I have seen. My compost is neutral, always neutral. My soil is pH ~7.5 and will always be 7.5, no matter what plant matter I have added to it.
