I need advice... or something.

I want to build a "velvet board" which is an ironing board made just to iron velvet. The face of the board is wire, like the wire things they make to clean files. When you put the velvet down on it good side down, the velvet fibers don't flatten out, and the steam kames it look like new.

What do you call that wire stuff that cleans files, and where would one look for it in larger sizes than the file cleaners?
