Pocket PC -HP iPAC or another brand?

I am looking for a PDA, mostly for putting my daylilies on excel & budgeting & of course calendar and tasks. I got a HP iPAC 1935 a few days ago and after getting on line help support from HP, found it to be defective. The 1935 came with a $50. rebate which I really liked, but I don't like the idea that it was brand new & already needed repair. What has your experience been with a PDA? I have a desktop PC running Windows XP, incase that makes a difference.

Actually, my question to you is this....should I just exchange this HP for a new one or should I return it and purchase another brand, like Palm ? I want to do this on Sat. so I would really appreciate your opinions quickly!
