Anyone willing to trade 3-4 birdhouse gourds for....

(Carole) Cleveland, TX(Zone 9a)

plants, bulbs, seeds, magazines, anything?
I have a shut-in friend who's really wanting to try decorating these for us as a winter project and I'd like to get her some if I can.

Is anyone willing to work a trade with me?
I only have one trade page set up ~ it's on GardenWeb.
If you don't mind going there to see what I have to offer, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks!

The problem with shipping 3 Med sized birdhouse gourds is the packing and the size of the box you would need to ship them and still there is no guarantee that they will arrive unbroken.

ahhhh I see. Thanks, windsurffer.

Wonder if I could offer seeds AND SASE?
I'm happy to even get TWO gourds.

I plan to try to grow my own next year, but just didn't get around to it this year.

I am not going to promise you but I will see what I can do to help, I haven't had too much rest since the Ky RU and I still have to clean up my garden plus a lot of running to do.
After that I will send you an email and let you know and will settle for just SASE, I think its a wonderful thing your doing.

Did you know your friend can use ploymer clay on small gourds and use them as planters for small plants like cactus, etc. I am full of ideas that I wouldn't mind sharing. I have made a few but haven't had time to water sanded them yet or I would post them here.

Carole,

Here's where I went to visit and buy gourds about a year ago --> http://www.sandlady.com/

I bought plenty and then shipped them for cost plus shipping price last year to about 7 interested folks. Here's a link to last year's effort --> http://davesgarden.com/t/365885/

And, then, figuring out who wanted which ones --> http://davesgarden.com/t/367020/

It was a LOT of work, but I might do it again if there's enough interest. We certainly get a better price once she reduces her prices as winter nears. She usually has a lot left over, but I don't know about this year given our wacky weather.

Thank you guys so much for your help here.
I'd definitely be interested in a co-op, Morph.
If there is a way I can help you with it, I'd be happy to.
I checked the gourd lady's site and I don't see where I can really afford to get 15 to 20 gourds right now, as it seems she does (naturally) have a minimum.

Please LMK if there's anything I can do for either of you in exchange for your help.
