How many of us turn on, and turn off, our computers each day, and then off for good at night? I know I do this at least 5 or 6 times a day. There is a 'sleep' mode available to conserve energy once the computer is not in use. But I find this to be noisy. An article on this subject is encluded.http://bcentral.com/articles/enbysk/158.asp
