What a way to spend the three day holiday, huh? Late Friday afternoon, I started investigating my week-old sore throat, to discover 'white stuff' growing inside my throat. Off to the doctor, I go, I go. Turns out, it's a yuckie, huge, tonsillitis infection. I'm on antibiotics, and some syrupy stuff that is *supposed* to alleviate pain and slow drainage. It's doing neither of those things, but maybe it's really making a difference, and I'd be worse without it. I can feel all my glands from the shoulders up, and boy are they swollen. Low-grade fever, along with the discomfort involved in swallowing, both making for a real fun vacation.
So, what do all of you "Moms" out there do for your loved ones when they contract this nasty yuckie-ness? I'm taking my meds, trying to rest a lot, and forcing fluids in spurts, since it's hard to swallow anything. Is there anything else I can be doing to at least calm my throat and convince these glands that it's okay to unswell a little? :)
Looking for any and all advice, thanks.
