we still havent had any rain which is good but ....
the annuals in my front garden are now showing signs of stress. The Arctotis are no longer producing new buds so in a week or less there wont be a flower left. It will only be a sea of grey/green leaves.
Some of the Marguerites finished ages ago as have the Gazanias.
If only it would belt down for one night to put them back in the mood
plants now showing signs of stress
you should see the huge pratense bed I planted up this summer with seedlings raised from the seed Judith gave us. No sign of stress there, its looking great!
wish I could say the same for plot 1 though. They are all grumbling in there! :((
We got our first rain for 6 weeks on Friday here in Hamburg!! It hammered down from 16:00 till Saturday morning at 10:00, a wee bit too late though to save many of the plants which had been roasted by the sun.
Now it rains every day again, and I am one happy Jock since I'm back in my natural element ;-)
Cool and wet ... Luvvit!!!
Wintermoor
Im glad youve managed to cool off and cool down Wintermoor! ;)
Thanks Psilo :-)
Hamburg's weather is very much like that of Glasgow. This is what we get when the rest of the world gets:
Rest of the world ...... Glasgow/Isle of Skye/Hamburg
No wind ..................... slight breeze
Slight breeze ............ stiff breeze
Stiff breeze ............... strong wind
Strong wind .............. storm
Storm ........................ Hurricane
and we call:
Drizzling rain ................ cloudy
heavy rain ..................... spitting
Torrential rain .............. rain shower
Floods and catastrophes .. pelting down
Wind still in Glasgow and Hamburg is a force 4 wind for the rest LOL
Back in my element and happy as a cow with a banjo ;-)
Wintermoor
torrential rain here = passion!
then long may it chuck it down!!!!! LOL
