Need Good book on Irises

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Okay! I know the names & photos of many of the modern irises by heart. What I need is a book for identifying the old fashioned ones who've lost their names over the decades. Does anyone know of such a book? I need pictures--I'm stupid! I'm trying to add more of these gorgeous creatures to my borders. It would be nice toi call them by name when I'm talking to them.... It's okay, all the neighbors KNOW I'm nuts! LOL

I don't know of a book but Argyle Acres has the most extensive collection of historic irises I've seen on the web. http://www.argyleacres.com/gallery/view_list_historic.asp?historic_z=yes

Hello Wanda,
Go to the "American Iris Society" homepage. They offer tons of books. Otherwise, searching the endless web can be impossible. Anyone have books to trade??? I have a few old Iris bulletins jammed with info.

Why didn't I think of that? (beating head against wall...) Thank you!
