Need info on quick growing shrub or tree for 10-15 foot privacy. Fruit trees or flowering scrub would be fine.
Any suggestions?

prain, we planted a very fast growing shrub here called "Russian Olive". Botanical name: Elaeagnus angustifolia. You might want to check into this shrub, it is fantastic. Lisa

i planted butterfly bushes and then a row of vitex-very slow and bare in the spring-but very pretty in the summer!
I just planted a large row of castor beans in front of the rows-they will make a fast wall(i hope)

I agree with justmeLisa.....nothing beats Eleagnus for the natural privacy barrier. They are quick growers and can be pruned or left to grow naturally.

My question is, what are you going to do behind those giant bushes once you get them planted? :)

thank you all for your info we are leaning towards the russian olive. the reason for the needed privacy is to block out the free spirited fun loveing fellows who live below the back of our property these guys have fun anytime if you know what i mean .
