My new rhody, planted last fall, has lots of leaves that are all covered in brown splotches and some white splotches. ???? I have 6 other Rhodys in my yard but none of them are bothered by this. I am going to treat it with that Bayer Co. medicine for weavels since I see bites taken out of a number of other leaves but this must be a disease and not a pest, right?
Rhododendron Leaves
ana---could it be powdery mildew? http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/plantdiseasefs/450-603/450-603.html
Rhodies also appear to have a problem with phytophthora which actually affects the roots but symptoms can be wilting of leaves during the day.

It is not the powdery mildew. I think I will take a leaf out to garden shop for diagnosis. Thank you.
