Grapes from cuttings?

A generous friend has given permission for others to take cuttings from her various grapes. When is the best time to do this, and are there any special procedures to follow?

We used to do it in March and we just stuck them in the garden with no rooting hormone and about 50% of them would root.

Nope, Tiller is on the west side foothills. About 23 miles east of Canyonville. (I-5) Actually, I live nearer Drew, but Drew no longer has a PO or any businesses.

Tigerlily, I am still lost, what larger town is Canyonville near, it does ring a bell but I can't quite pin it down .

Lenjo, I'm about an hour above Medford. Hiway 62 runs through Medford, then White City and Eagle Point to the north. Continue on 62 through Shady Cove to Trail, where you would turn at Hiway 227. At the summit is the county line where 227 changes to Douglas County 1. I am just a few miles from the Jackson/Douglas county line.

From I-5...... Canyonville (Seven Feathers Casino) is about midway between Roseburg and Grants Pass.
