I just planted a greenback magnolia and don't know what to do with the leaves that die to the inside. My experience with other magnolias would tell me this is rather common to the species, but I don't know what's best to do with the dead leaves. Same with a new magnolia "little gem" that I planted a few months ago. So how should I handle the dead leaves?
