Something has been eating the container plants on my front porch and the only pest I've found so far is one earwig. I figure where there's one, there's bound to be more. I can't find much information on non-chemical means of eradication. I'm not big on traps becuase that means I have to squish them (or otherwise interact with them). Yuck! I found a couple of web sites that suggested the garlic oil spray. Has that worked for any of you?

Earwigs and garlic oil spray?
I have no experience with garlic spray but I have had success with soap spray. Especially if you find a large concentration of earwigs, soap kills them.
Try going out at night with a flashlight to see what you find. So many things hide during the day but come out at night to feed, including cutworms, pillbugs, slugs, and your earwigs. I've also turned up gold beetles and a big green katydid at night.
