I have two hummingbird feeders and not one hummer I made them the food two times. whats going on?

It's hard for me to determine why sometimes hummers show up and sometimes they don't. I think the weather has a lot to do with it. This year we have 5 or 6 that show up at the feeders. Last year we had 40-60 (I refilled my 6 feeders at least twice a day and went through several pounds of sugar). Sometimes in late summer after our rains start we get more. Don't give up!
