Sparrow chicks

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

I have baby sparrows and their family living in a hanging pot on my patio. Had I known Momma Sparrow was nesting there, months ago, I would've kicked the nest out. Once I saw it , there were already eggs in it, so I left it go.

Now I've been able to enjoy seeing five baby sparrows grow from eggs to chicks. How long should I expect them to stay in the nest? As you can imagine, the hanging basket needs serious pruning, and some real attention that it can't get with babies living inside... I'm kind of eager to get it looking nice again ..

TIA,

small birds usually spend 12 to 14 days in the nest before they fledge. Be careful not to make them 'explode' out before their time as they will never settle again and most likely die
