Ew, it looks like some sort of stink bug. (gags)
It's some kind of plant bug but I can't place which one. The two dots are odd.
I'm going to guess that it is a Box Elder bug. Then I'll try to remember to look it up in one of my books tomorrow.

Thanks Calalily. For the last few years I have had a ton of these on my milkweeds. I wondered what they were. I had never seen them before and now I never see them on anything but the milkweed plants. They really are striking.
