I mixed up my usual soil and then added some of this Smart Soil for my usual was drying out way too quickly. And even though I added less than a third to the mix of this soil, the pot would not drain for well over 30 minutes. I could not believe it. It has those water absorbing crystals in the soil. Would that cause it? Has anyone else had the same problem or did I get a weird bag?
thanks
It would not drain at all!!!

According to the product desription, it's SUPPOSED to contain those crystals. These things will absord MANY times their weight and volume in water.
Be sure never to let anything with these hydrating crystals in it get down a drain ;~)
Adam.

kell I've been using this soil in the greenhouse for like 3 years... never had any problem. I have noticed that sometimes the "ingredients" are different. Sometimes there a lot of wood chips, sometimes lots of peat etc. All my potted plants live and grow in this stuff ;)
