Red Bud Trees and how to plant them...

My red bud trees, for the first time, have those things hanging on them that look like seed pods. Is that what they are? Right now they feel flat and and don't feel seeds in them. Will I eventually? I want to hurry them along in getting them to spread so I would like some advice on how to do this.

Without knowing the particular genus or species you have, here's an article on propagating redbud trees:

Some of the information I came across indicates that some species of redbud are fairly easy to grow from seed, however, if the parent is a cultivar, then the seedlings will not be true to the parent. And it appears cultivars are more difficult to propagate, even by grafting. So, you may end up with undesirable characteristics in your seedlings, but then again you may not.....hope this helps, and good luck! Post pictures of your progress - we'd love to see them.
