I found a couple of these for the first time last summer. The smallest one that I dug up had a hooked root and I didn't get it all, but I haven't noticed that one come back. They're small now but got about 4' tall last year and grew very fast. They seem to be spreading by clump, and I probably had less than 10 of them in different parts of my yard. So far I've found only 3 this spring but it's still early.
Does anyone know what they are? Please tell me I can get rid of them, and how ?
Please help with this beast!
Pokeweed!
I've read boiling water and Roundup, and forget about trying to get rid of it. And it's highly toxic to fatal.
Has anyone had any experience with Pokeweed?
If ya want Poke Salit, Sally ...
I just pull em up and toss em, easy ro pull!
My FIL loves eatting this nasty stuff. BUT if it isn't cooked right it can be VERY toxic! Lots of old timers eat this stuff, but the only time I ever tasted it...it tasted just like it smells when ya pull it outta the ground! YUCK!!! stinky!!
I agree with Vi, it is usually pretty easy to pull out.
