Transplanting Styrax

I dug out a 5-6 foot tall styrax 'pink chimes' a few days ago. The leaf buds just turning green. They have a broad thick root system so it lost considerable major roots. It was a do or die so I tried.
Do they transplant well? I'm wondering if it'll live. It lost about 1/2 of its roots.
