Started and they're 10" high already. We can't plant out for 3-4 weeks yet. Can/should I pinch off? Thanks!

Sounds like you got an early case of spring fever. I love scarlett runner beans but I have better luck with them if started outside or inside two weeks before planting. By all means pinch them off. However, I hope that you still have some seed where you can start a second batch.

Also, I stagger planting of my beans in order to keep them blooming longer. Here in this zone (7a), they seem to have an inner timer - - where they bloom like crazy and then die.
So I plant a few, wait a week and plant some more and so on.

If you want another Scarlet Runner Bean...his name is "Sunset"....some seed cos. carry it! I use mine for infill on trellises and arbors! Elaine
