Understandably, my earlier title, "Brackish Water," did not generate a lot of interest. Fact is, I'm digging a pond perhaps 100 ft from the shore in a tropical rainforest area of Panama. The land is low, the water table is very high, so when I dig, the hole will fill naturally with brackish water, which I will continually refresh with fresh water runoff from the house. It's more muddy than sandy, and palm trees grow in abundance. So what beautiful tropical plants, shrubs, grasses, etc. will tolerate or prefer a wet, saline environment and hot temperatures? And are there any that have showy blooms?
