hand-made mallet; you'll love it!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

What with all the ice storm damage (fallen trees) I decided to make a mallet like I had yrs ago. This is the perfect tool for knocking two pcs of wood together for making a tight fit (for glueing/screwing) as well as for pounding garden stakes in the ground (for running your row strings, etc).

This is made from dogwood, very nice hard wood! Here is the piece in the vice, being worked. (And there is still enuff left over to make a second one.
