making a wedding special

Do you all have any tips or ideas? I am in charge of organizing an Engagement Party, a bachlorette party and a am also throwing her a bridal shower-for one of my best friends who's asked me to be the matron of honor. Well I've never done this before and I eloped, SO...

I am planning to do a "program" handout about how they met etc and painting champagne glasses for the toast at the engagement party. Has anyone done this? I wanted to do some kind of memento the guests could all sign-like a platter or something....I guess I need to go to Michael's and check out what would stick to porcelain...but I thought I'd check with you all first.....

Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!
