Sea Slug

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We went on a dolphin watch/eco tour in the Gulf. This is a sea slug, called "sea hair" that was caught in the net. It is covered with slime and will discharge purple dye if frightened. None of the creatures were harmed and were released immediately.

LOL.it looks spiney,is it?

They are more like tentacles, like hair. You know, that may be the puffer fish!! He was spiney!! The Sea Hair was slimey, had these soft spiney things on him, and lots of slime!! I wish my camera had a way to label the pics as you take them cause when you get home and have 100 pics to download, my poor memory gets all fuzzy!!

What fun!! Fishy slime :) I bet Lauren had a ball. Aren't those puffer fish poisonous?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

There is a spot inside that you can't eat and must know how to clean them before cooking. The spines aren't poison, and they can't bite because they are holding water inside and can't open their mouths or they will shrink!!
