19" Monitor Shopping

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Our 17" Sony monitor is so dim and flickery I can't tell what my photos really look like anymore, so we're shopping.

We're looking for a lower-end 19" monitor. We see several brands with similar specs (i.e. at least a 75mHz refresh, 1600x1200 resolution and .24-.26mm dot pitch). I'd like a flat-screen, but a standard CRT would be okay too.

Brands I see in this $125-175 price range (after rebates) are Daewoo, KDS, MAG, NEC and (a little pricier) Viewsonic. Any of them are going to look better than this old thing, but I'd still like to get the best for the money we have to spend on one.

Any experiences to share?
