Any ideas for keeping a childs craft/school items in?

My son is 3 yrs old and brings home tons of little construction paper things, colorings, etc home all the time and I hate to say it but most go in the trash. Does anyone have something they use to store these in. I was thinking of looking at thrift stores for a cedar chest or something like that???
