labels-inkjet vs laser?

Well "Bless my heart"♫ ...
Quick question here. I have an Inkjet printer and have always bought inkjet labels for it. However, a particular type of label I want I can only find for Laser printers. Is there really that much of a difference? Can I use a Laser label on my Inkjet printer, or does it have something to do with the ink smearing or not adhering properly. (My quest is to use "outdoor" or "weatherproof" labels for my pots in the g-house.)

Any experience on this issue? Thanks!
