Every year in the spring we have what I call dump week. Different sections of the city can put out in the street anything we want to throw away. Every year a friend of mine comes to town and we go "treasure hunting". Her two girls have grown up doing this and enjoy it as much as we do. I have gotten some really great things over the years (a tin top kitchen cabinet, bulbs, plants and last year 3 unused boxes of canning jars). My friend lives on a farm and usually brings a trailer and fills up with wood to burn all winter.
People go by in cars and trucks all week and pick up stuff (other peoples trash). After a week the city brings in bulldozers and large trucks and hauls what is left away.
Does anyone else have this wonderful way of recycling.
