Should I fertilize my wisteria now that all the leaves are falling off and it's going into hybernation? It's a relatively new plant and I would like to get some blooms next year.
Wisteria Care
You might want to give your new Wisteria, half a cupful of lime to sweeten up the soil..they like lime.....as they go into hibernation, it's really a good idea to leave him alone...don't do any pruning for the first two years! good luck! Elaine
Ah, lime. The soil here in San Diego is pretty rotten - the garden man told me Wisteria would thrive in poor soil, but if I can give it a treat, I'll do the lime. Thanks for the tip. I will also leave off with the pruning, it's in training over a trellis and I want to encourage all the branches up and over it.
