this afternoon we had the most unusual mist I have ever seen and lots of people were talking about it.
from 4pm until just before dark we had a grey mist with a hint of pink. I was out in the car at the time and it was everywhere.
14C here tonight with a strange falling snow ambience. know what I mean?

I know exactly what you mean Mark we get them here too. Its as though you are looking through a strawberry cream wrapper and it always happens at dusk.
Sounds very picturesque and a little weird.
Here 4pm IS just before dark LOL, in fact yesterday it was so overcast that car lights went on before 4 and it was even darker today - and raining :(
What a difference a little bit of latitude makes!
