This is a poem a friend wrote for my Halloween page several years ago. He is now deceased.

Time for Halloween

It’s time for ghosts and goblins
And black cats on the prowl
For grinning Jack O’ Lanterns
And hearing the banshees howl

It’s time for little children
To stir the witches brew
With shouts of Trick or treating
scary faces, monsters too

It’s time to duck for apples
And to taste the pumkin pie
It’s time for sipping cider
As the bats go flying by

It’s time for that big Harvest moon
To come upon the scene
Yes the frost is on the pumpkin
And it’s time for Halloween
