New blooms

(Zone 5a)

My little dahlia's are just blooming their little heads off. I plant these late from seeds and thought they wouldn't bloom this season but to my surprise they are just going crazy.

Windsurffer: These are lovely! I accidentally started a dahlia this spring. I had some unidentified seeds from a friend, and it turned out to be dahlia. I was surprised at how large the tuber was when I dug it up this fall!

Thanks Pebble I ususally plant from seeds because I don't have the space for that many plants.

Tyke these are the dwarf ones they come in all different colors, I had one last summer that looked almost black. I am really glad that you like them.

Thanks GrannyL

Weez it is amazing how big the tubers are, and just to think how tiny the seeds are. I was just as shocked as your were when I dug mine up last fall.

What's the best method for storing the tubers?

(Zone 5a)

I haven't tried to store them but bring the plant in so I guess someone else here can answer that one for you.
