Almost, but not quite

Have you ever been a day late or a dollar short? I sure was today.

About a week ago, Walmart dumped all of their unsold hostas into their trash compactor. I talked to one of the workers today and asked where all the hostas went. I'd been watching them drop in price, but had only bought a few when they first went on clearance. He said that since they didn't sell fast enough and the mums and pansies had come in, they wrote them off and trashed them.

That drives me crazy! He said he would have sold them to me for a quarter a piece if I'd just been there. Ugghhhhh.

I gave him our church business card with my name on it and asked him to call me next time he decides to trash plants. He put it in his wallet, at least. We'll see.
